Porchboard Bass

Porchboard close-up Porchboard with guitar

This is the simple percussion instrument you've seen other guitarists use to accompany their music. The Porchboard Bass provides a rich, deep, bass beat while practicing or performing.  The Porchboard Bass (also known as floor bass) sits on the floor and is easy to play using one or both feet to produce simple or complex rhythms. You lightly tap on the suspended rail, which produces a low-end bass beat. This is the best-sounding floor board we've ever heard - it has a rich, full sound. The low-end bass polytone sounds as though it changes and matches all keys and chord changes.

The Porchboard Bass is available in solid mahogany or segmented pine. The warm finish complements Gruven wooden Premier stands.

How it works: The proximity sensor (located on the base of the Porchboard Bass, underneath the suspended stepping rail) works by detecting the change of position of the transducer plate (located under the suspended stepping rail) and responds to that change by sending an electrical signal out to a bass amplifier through a standard guitar cord.
